Scholarship Application

As former students of Grovetown High School, our goal as a foundation is to provide current students at the opportuinty to succeed in their next step of life. We plan to do this through mentorship, speaking to classes, and offering life experiences while also being able to level with students. Be The Change Foundation would like to begin our mission of community involvement with our scholarship. We will offer a total of four (4) $1,000 scholarships in the Spring of 2021 to seniors at Grovetown High School and Harlem High School graduating in May 2021.

Scholarship Details and Requirements

The Be The Change Foundation scholarship will award two (2) Grovetown High School seniors and two (2) Harlem High School seniors graduating in May 2021. The award will be a total of $4,000 ($1,000 per recipient) and winners will be announced on March 1st, 2021. Applicants must submit a written essay answering a set list of questions provided. Applicants must also submit their resume displaying work and volunteer experience. Additional requirements are as follows:

Cumulative 3.0 GPA
SAT Composite score >1050 OR ACT score >18
At least 20 hours of community service in Grovetown or surrounding areas
- Volunteering at a church, school organization/team, 3rd party organization, coaching, etc.
Provide a detailed repsonse (500 words mininum) to any two (2) of the following questions:
- Please describe an experience in your life that has pushed you to excel in academics or philanthropy, or pushed you to become involved in organizations.
- Describe your hero and explain what it is that makes them your hero. Provide at least three examples.
- What goals have you set for yourself and expect to achieve in the next five years? The next ten years? Why?
- Describe your non-academic hobbies and discuss the impact they have had on you. What do you gain from partaking in these hobbies?
- In your opinion, what are the three most important skills in being a successful leader/manager? Why?
Two (2) letters of recommendation from community and/or school leaders. These letters cannot be provided from immediate or distant relatives to the applicant.
